The port of Straubing-Sand is a freight port in the Straubing-Sand industrial park on the Danube .
The port of Straubing-Sand was opened in 1996, is located at Danube kilometer 2312.3 on the right and consists of a port basin 700 m long and 90 m wide and a 120 m turning basin. It is part of the Straubing-Sand industrial park and is operated by Hafen Straubing-Sand GmbH. Transport-intensive companies have settled along the two transshipment banks. The transhipment bank of the southern quay is 625 m, the north quay is 390 meters long. There are three port cranes available that span the respective double loading tracks on the south and north quays. The port is connected to the Deutsche Bahn track network via the Straubing – Bogen railway line . At the front there is a RoRo ramp for loading vehicles (width: 23.6 m) and on the west side of the southern quay there is a heavy-duty slab measuring 60 m in length and 17.5 m in width.
In 2016, the port of Straubing-Sand, with 620,943 t of ship freight traffic, accounted for 8.65% of the ship goods traffic in Bavaria, which in 2016 totaled 7,174,477 t.
