Hagen Stüdemann

Hagen Stüdemann (* 1972 in Rostock ) is a German jazz guitarist , improvisation musician , composer , double bass player and graphic artist .

Live and act

Stüdemann studied graphics and design at the University of Wismar , Heiligendamm u. a. with Knut Wolfgang Maron . In his graphic work, Hagen Stüdemann prefers the screen printing technique.

As a jazz and improvisation musician, Stüdemann was initially self-taught . After ten years of classical guitar training, he switched to the double bass and took lessons from Henry Schwarzkopf, the solo bassist of the North German Philharmonic Rostock . He performed with his own bands, between 2001 and 2005 with Ispahan and in parallel with the ChamberJazzOrchestra , then from 2003 to 2006 with the AnarchoJazzLobbyBand in northern Germany and at festivals such as Jazzfrühling Neubrandenburg and Baltic Sea Jazz. He played u. a. with Johannes Bauer , Theo Jörgensmann , Michael Thieke , Christopher Dell , Christian Ramond , Luten Petrowsky , Albrecht Maurer , Rudi Mahall , Michael Griener , Frank Gratkowski or Christian Lillinger . He is currently a permanent member of the Theo Jörgensmann Freedom Trio . He plays in the Jazzflash group with Jan von Klewitz , Akira Andō and Lenjes Robinson .
