Haiyore! Nyaruko-san ( Japanese 這 い よ れ! ニ ャ ル 子 さ ん , Eng. "Krauche! Nyaruko-san") is a 12-part Japanese light novel series by Manta Aisora with illustrations by Koin . The series is a parody of the Cthulhu myth and hundreds of references to Japanese pop culture with the "creeping chaos" Nyarlathotep as the protagonist, who is shown here as a chaotic girl instead of a horror-like being.
The series of novels was also implemented as a radio play, manga and several animes .
action
The student Mahiro Yasaka is attacked by a nightgaunt one night , but is saved in time by a silver-haired girl. This calls itself a Nyarlathotep named Nyaruko and belongs to the "Planetary Protection Organization" ( 惑星 保護 機構 , Wakusei Hogo Kikō ), a kind of space police. After seeing a photo of Mahiro who is the target of a human trafficking ring, she fell in love with him, signed up for the assignment to protect him, and moved in with him. Then follow the Cthugha Kūko who fell in love with Nyaruko, and the Hastur Hasuta who also fell in love with Mahiro.
Mahiro learns that the beings described in the Cthulhu myth were members of extraterrestrial races who have been visiting Earth for a long time and also met HP Lovecraft . This is because the earth is technologically inferior to the rest of space, but its culture, especially Japanese pop culture, is considered to be superior and is accordingly in great demand. The motives of the opponents also derive from this: B. found out that the Nightgaunts were sent by Nodens to kidnap Mahiro because the producers of a Boys-Love- Manga film really wanted someone.
characters
- Nyaruko ( ニ ャ ル 子 , suitcase word from Nyarlathotep ( ニ ャ ル ラ ト ホ テ プ , Nyaruratohotepu ) and the feminine suffix ko )
- Nyaruko is an alien of the Nyarlathotep race and has the shape of a girl with long silver hair. She has a hyperactive character with whom she repeatedly causes chaos and describes herself as "[I am] the chaos that always grows up to you with a smile." (「い つ も ニ コ ニ コ あ な た の の 隣 に 這 い よ る 混沌」, Itsumo nikoniko anata no tonari ni haiyoru account ).
- She is madly in love with Mahiro and, to his annoyance, tries constantly to seduce him with the aim of becoming his wife and having as many children as possible, mostly dismissing Mahiro's repulsive behavior as shyness.
- Nyaruko joined the "Planetary Protection Organization" after graduating as the best of his year at the Space University and came to earth to protect Mahiro from a human trafficking ring, where she moved in with him and also attended his school class as his relative Nyarlathotep Yasaka . After the case closed, she took 300 years of paid vacation to stay with Mahiro. On the other hand, she also came to earth as an otaku from mangas, animes, tokusatsu series and Japanese games and one of her first acts on earth was a visit to an anime shop to buy as many of them as possible, since such goods are a strict one Subject to export controls to space. Despite her work as a policewoman, Nyaruko then wants to smuggle them from the earth with the justification "it is not a crime if you are not caught". In her work she is usually quite brutal, for example when B. their opponents, like Mahiro's kidnappers, dismembered with a crowbar or bare hands.
- Mahiro Yasaka ( 八 坂 真 尋 , Yasaka Mahiro )
- Mahiro is an ordinary student who is targeted by an alien trafficking ring and is rescued by Nyaruko. He has a serious personality and is constantly annoyed by the, in his opinion, unreasonable, especially Nyaruko's chaotic, behavior of the aliens living with him and therefore takes on the role of a tsukkomi in the work . From his mother he inherited the ability to hurt “evil gods” ( 邪神 , jashin ), as Nyaruko and the others are called , with a fork . He mainly uses this to fend off Nyaruko's constant advances. Although he also has feelings for Nyaruko, as a connoisseur of the Cthulhu myth and Nyarlathotep's role in it, he is uncomfortable entering into a relationship with her. Nyaruko therefore also calls him Tsundere .
- Kūko ( ク ー 子 , suitcase word from Cthugha ( ク ト ゥ グ ア , Kutugaa ) and ko )
- Kūko is a Cthugha and rules the element fire as a “living flame”. She appears as a girl with red hair and bows in it that look like flames. She usually has a calm, monotonous and quiet voice and otherwise a cool character. For example, she does not refer to Mahiro by his name, but only calls him "boy" ( shōnen ). In contrast, she is completely on fire for Nyaruko, even though both races are enemies. Such an opposing character is also called kūdere in Japanese . Kūko resembles Nyaruko in her eagerness to seduce, marry and have children, Nyarukos regarding Mahiro and just like Mahiro constantly rejects Nyaruko, so does Nyaruko with her. She has been friends with Nyaruko since space kindergarten and became a NEET after finishing school , spending her time only playing computer games. When she meets Nyaruko again, she joins the "Planetary Protection Organization" to be with Nyaruko, with her uncle who works in the personnel department helping her. She can also be transferred to Mahiro's class as Kūko Yasaka . After initially seeing Mahiro as a rival, she gradually grew affectionate for him and declared that if she married Nyaruko, she would take him as her lover (sic!).
- Hasuta ( ハ ス 太 , suitcase word from Hastur ( ハ ス タ ー , Hasutā ) and the masculine name suffix ta )
- Hasuta belongs to the Hastur race and masters the element of wind. As the " King in Yellow " he has blond hair and wears yellow clothes, although Mahiro initially mistook him for a girl because of his appearance. In addition, he has a rather obedient, shy character and seems to be the only one of the three "bad gods" with common sense. Hasuta attended school with Nyaruko and Kūko, where he was class representative. At the request of his father, the chairman of the computer game company Carcosa Computer Entertainment (CCE, cf. SCE ), he came to earth because of Mahiro's mother, where Hasuta then fell in love with Mahiro. Like the other two, he also attends Mahiro's class as Hasuta Yasaka .
- Luhy Distone ( ル ー ヒ ー ・ ジ ス ト ー ン , Rūhī Jisutōn )
- Luhy is a Cthulhi ( ク ト ゥ ル ヒ , Kuturuhi ; in the myth the star breed Cthulhus) and works for the Cthulhu company, where she headed the computer game development department, whose console Xoth is the direct competitor in the space game market to the company CCE. After the division was closed, she quit and went to work as a takoyaki (fried squid) saleswoman . She has the appearance of a grown woman with long green hair, the individual strands of which appear like squid arms, and commands the element of water.
- Yoriko Yasaka ( 八 坂 頼 子 , Yasaka Yoriko )
- Yoriko is Mahiro's mother, who has been hunting monsters and evil gods as a part-time job since her university days, using forks as a weapon. She looks very young for her age and indicates this as "forever 17 years" ( 永遠 の 17 歳 ), which alludes to her speaker in the radio plays, Kikuko Inoue , who has also been 17 as the age for years. She has the habit of hugging her son in order to charge her “son-ium” ( ム ス コ ニ ウ ム , musukoniumu ) by self-declaration .
The anime of 2012 resulted in the last two episodes a new character named Gutatan ( グタタン ), daughter of the owner of the Ghatanothoa - Group , which is based on the same creatures from the myth. In contrast to the one where Ghatanothoa is described as "old man" with a face so terrible that one is frozen to stone, Gutatan is a cute little girl.

Anime
Haiyoru! Nyaruani
The DLE company adapted the novel series as two short Flash animation series. Azuma Tani directed each.
The first episode of the first series Haiyoru! Nyaruani ( 這 い よ る! ニ ャ ル ア ニ ) was released on October 23, 2009 and was available online as ONA for buyers of the first radio play CD . Further episodes appeared on December 19, 2009 in GA Magazin issue 3 and all 9 episodes were finally enclosed in volume 4 of the light novel. The episodes were about 1½ minutes long, with the exception of the last about 6½ minutes. The final title was Suki, Suki, Daisuki. ( 好 き 、 好 き 、 大好 き。 , “I like you, I like you, I like you very much”) sung by Kana Asumi and composed / used by Yūki Sudō; There was no opening title.
The second series Haiyoru! Nyaruani: Remember My Love (craft-sensei) ( !這いよるニャルアニリメンバー·マイ·ラブ(クラフト先生) , Haiyoru Nyaruani: Rimembā May Rabu (kurafuto-sensei) ), and also Haiyoru! The 11 episodes were each 4 minutes long. As in the first series, the actual episode content is animated in Flash, while the credits are drawn like regular cartoon series. This used the music title Koisuru Otome no Catharsis ( 恋する乙女のカタルシス, " catharsis of a girl in love") composed by Yasuo Ōtani , texted of Nobuhito Ikehata and Momoyo Funabasama sung by LISP, a group consisting of Kana Asumi, Azusa Kataoka and Sayuri Hara .
