Hallen is a place in the municipality of Åre in the Swedish province of Jämtlands län . A total of 220 inhabitants (2015) live on an area of 90 hectares. Hallen is located on the western bank of Storsjön , Sweden's fifth largest lake, about 70 kilometers southeast of Åre and 65 kilometers west of Östersund . To the west of Hallen is Bydalsfjällen .
Attractions
The Dammån river is located near Hallen and is one of the most important breeding grounds for trout (Salmo trutta) from Storsjön. The tributaries of Dammån come from Anaris and Oviksfjäll . Beavers (Castor fiber) also live in Dammån . Hallen has a church from 1776. In nearby Trappnäs there was one of the largest residential areas in the area around Storsjön in the Stone Age . Legend has it that the Storsjöodjuret live in Storsjön .
