Mörsil is a place in the Swedish province of Jämtlands län and is located in the east of the municipality of Åre . 781 inhabitants live in Mörsil on an area of 133 hectares (2015). Mörsil is halfway between Östersund and the fells . The Indalsälven flows south of the village .
Infrastructure
Europastraße 14 runs through the village . In addition, the Mittbanan crosses the town, but has no train station here.
sanatorium
The current building of Sweden’s first sanatorium was built in Mörsil in 1899 . Before that, the sanatorium used other buildings for several years. Above all, patients who had tuberculosis were treated here. To date (2011) all buildings have been preserved and of medical historical value.
Attractions
In Kretsloppshuset organically farmed gardens are shown. There is also an ecological cafe here. In Mörsil there are the remains of a former war hill from 1611. There is also the Hembygdsgården Römmen, which deals with the development of forest work.
