Noșlac (outdated Nojlac ; German Großhaus , Hungarian Marosnagylak or Nagylak ) is a Romanian municipality in the Alba district in Transylvania .
Geographical location
The municipality of Noșlac is located in the northeast of the Alba district to the left of the Mureș River , in the southwest of the Transylvanian Basin . Located on the district road (Drum județean) DJ 107G, the place Noșlac is 7 kilometers northeast of the city of Ocna Mureș (Miereschhall) ; the district capital Alba Iulia (Karlsburg) is located about 56 kilometers southwest.
history
According to a report by G. Téglás from 1887, an urn made of ceramics and objects from the Hallstatt period and an unassigned culture were discovered at the site.
The place was first mentioned in 1288 under the Hungarian name Noglac , in 1854 under Nagy-Lak and Noslac .

The highest population of today's municipality was determined in 1956, that of the Romanians in 1956, the Hungarians and Germans in 1900 and that of the Roma (68) in 2011.
Attractions
- The Gothic church with a double tower and a bell from 1667, built in the 15th century and rebuilt in the 18th century, is a listed building.
- The wooden churches Sfinții Arhangheli Mihail și Gavriil in Noșlac, built 1700–1783, rebuilt in 1803 and 1923, those built in Copand ( Bussendorf ) in 1856 , those in Găbud ( Gabuden ) built in 1776 and rebuilt in 1875, are also listed.
