history

The place was founded in 1911 from the Romanian village Tâmpahaza (Hungarian Tompaháza ) and Uifalău (German Neudorf , Hungarian Szászújfalu or Marosújfalu ) - a place founded by Transylvanian-Saxon settlers and inhabited by Romanians and Hungarians since the 15th century .

Numerous archaeological finds from the Early Bronze Age have been made on the territory of the municipality . Not far from the village - on Mieresch , called În Țărmuire by the locals - remains of dwellings from Roman times have been found.

The place was first mentioned (according to various sources) in 1263 under the name Terra Kend - the old name for Uifalău - or in 1439.

The main occupations of the population are agriculture, livestock and fruit growing.
