Bucerdea Grânoasă ( German Botschard or Bothard , Hungarian Búzásbocsárd ) is a Romanian municipality in the Alba district in Transylvania .

Bucerdea Grânoasa is located in the southwest of the Transylvanian Basin , 3 kilometers north of the river Târnava (Kokel) and the Drum național 14B , about 10 kilometers west of the city of Blaj (bubble village) and about 30 kilometers northeast of the district capital Alba Iulia .
history
The town of Bucerdea Grânoasa was first mentioned in 1303. The village got its Romanian name from its grain production. grâne = grain. In the Middle Ages the village was mostly inhabited by Hungarians , later by Romanians . The population lived mainly from agriculture.
Bucerdea Grânoasă became an independent municipality with the villages of Cornu , Pădure and Pânca on April 27, 2006 when Crăciunelu de Jos broke away .
