The Vienna Oberdöbling stop , originally written as Ober-Döbling , is an S-Bahn station on the Vienna suburb line in the 19th district of Döbling, designed by the architect Otto Wagner . In the course of planning the suburban line of the Vienna steam light rail , Otto Wagner also designed the Oberdöbling stop for the Commission for Transport Systems in Vienna . The hand drawings have been lost. Since the suburban line did not become the property of the City of Vienna in 1934, the plans are in the former Transport Archives (Austrian State Archives - General Administrative Archives). The plans for Oberdöbling are dated July 1894, the construction of the original reception building was completed in July 1895, and the first sightseeing tour was carried out in 1897. The stop went into operation on May 11, 1898.

In 1932, passenger traffic was stopped on the entire route and the Oberdöbling stop lost its original purpose and fell into disrepair in the decades that followed. On April 30, 1979, the federal government and the state of Vienna decided to convert the suburban line into an S-Bahn . Since the facility was severely impaired, it was removed and rebuilt in the historicizing style and went into operation on May 31, 1987 as a station of the S45. In 2013, elevator systems were retrofitted on the platforms and minor revitalization measures were carried out; Since then, the station has also been barrier-free.

The sub-area Oberdöbling, like large parts of the suburb line, is under monument protection ( list entry ).
