Hamdi Harbaoui ( Arabic حمدي الحرباوي, DMG Ḥamdī al-Ḥarbāwī ; * January 5, 1985 in Bizerte , Tunisia ) is a Tunisian - Belgian football player . He has been under contract with Al-Arabi in Qatar since summer 2019 .

Career

society

After Harbaoui had gone through the youth teams of Esparance Tunis , he first played there in the first team. At the age of 23 he moved to Belgium, initially to Excelsior Mouscron for half a year .

This was followed by a two-year contract with CS Visé , followed by an initial two-year commitment at Oud-Heverlee Löwen . After just one year, however, he switched to Sporting Lokeren

In the summer of 2014, Harbaoui moved to the Qatar Sport Club in Qatar . After a successful first year at Qatar, Harbaoui received no salary for three months from the summer of 2015. The player then requested his release on October 20, 2015 and also agreed with Lokeren on his return. FIFA only agreed to this at the end of December 2015.

In summer 2016 he signed a three-year contract with the Italian club Udinese Calcio . There he did not get along with coach Giuseppe Iachini . Therefore, without having played a game for Calcio, he moves back to Belgium to RSC Anderlecht shortly before the end of the transfer window .

In the first half of 2017 Harbaoui was loaned to Sporting Charleroi after he had not been in the squad for six games at Anderlecht and had not been on the pitch for the entire time before. After this loan expired, his playing times for Anderlecht were longer.

In January 2018, the player moved to SV Zulte Waregem . Harbaoui was the top scorer there in both the 2017/18 and 2018/19 seasons .

From the 2019/20 season he will be under contract with Al-Arabi in Qatar.

National team

Harbaoui played several international matches for the Tunisian national team in 2012/13 as part of qualifying matches for the World Cup and the Africa Cup, as well as several friendlies. After that he was not part of the national team until 2016. In 2016/2017 he will again play some qualifying games for the Africa Cup of 2017 , 2019 and the World Cup .

His last international match so far was on June 12, 2017.
