Raad voor Accreditatie

The Raad voor Accreditatie (RvA) ( German : Council for Accreditation ) is a Dutch organization that was founded in 1995 by the Nederlandse Calibratie Organizatie (NKO), the Stichting Erkenning Laboratoria en Inspectie-instellingen (STERLAB / STERIN) and the Raad voor Certificatie (RvC ) was founded on the initiative of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs .

The main task of the RvA is the accreditation of institutions that are active in the field of laboratory tests, inspections, calibration and certification . It is based on ISO and EN standards. On January 1st, 2008 it merged with the Organization for the Accreditation of Medical Laboratories (CCKL).

The working method of the RvA is checked by peer review. The basis for this are the multilateral recognition agreements (EA-MLA, IAF-MLA and ILAC-MRA). The RvA is a member of the European Cooperation for Accreditation (EA).

On January 1, 2010, the RvA became a Dutch accreditation body in accordance with Regulation (EC) 765/2008. The board of the RvA has been an independent administrative body ever since.
