Hamlet is a thrash metal band from Madrid .

history

Hamlet was founded in 1987 in the Spanish capital of Madrid by singer J. Molly, guitarists Luis Tárraga and Pedro Sánchez, bassist Augusto Hernández and drummer Javier Carluccio. Initially, the group played classic hard rock , which later changed to groove metal and hardcore punk . In 1991 the eponymous EP Hamlet was released , but its sound was rather bad. The debut album Peligroso followed in 1992 . At this point Javier Carluccio was replaced by Paco Sánchez.

The second album, which was released in 1994 and is called Sanatorio de muñecos , was recorded at Morrisound Studios in Florida . The third album Revolución 12,111 was recorded again in Florida. Colin Richardson worked as a producer on the album. In 2002 the sixth studio album was released under the title Hamlet . Hamlet was released on the Locomotive Records label , which also released the Directo live CD and DVD in 2003 . Between 1996 and 2002 three more albums were released with Insomnio (1998), El Inferno (2000) and Antes ... Y Después (2001). Bassist Augusto Hernández has meanwhile been replaced by Álvaro Tenorio. The group tried to sound more suitable for radio in the production of Syberia , but this failed. The 2006 released album Pura Vida was mixed again by Richardson. Pedro Sánchez left the group and was replaced by Javier Rocarbeti as guitarist. Not only did the band struggle with internal problems, the label also went downhill, so that the group could no longer edit their songs with Richardson.

The songs on Syberia's follow-up album were mixed in Los Angeles by Logan Mader , who previously worked for Gojira , Cavalera Conspiracy and Divine Heresy . Hamlet reached a deal with Roadrunner Records , which La Puta y el Diablo released in mid-2010. The eleventh studio album was released in mid-2011 and is called Amnesia . It was also released through Roadrunner Records. Hamlet are now signed to Kaiowas Records . The group toured mainly in Spain.
