The Hammer Klavier Trio is a German jazz - Trio from Hamburg , the 2002 by Boris Netsvetaev ( piano , Fender Rhodes ), Philipp Steen ( bass ) and Kai Bussenius ( drums was founded).

The style of the Hammer Piano Trio has been described as "somewhere between Monk and Bad Plus ". The band plays acoustically and electrically.

The debut album “Now I Know Who Shot JFK” was released in 2008 by the Swiss jazz label Altrisuoni .

In April 2011, the video of the performance at the Überjazz Festival on October 30, 2010 was named Video-of-the-Year candidate by the American Jazz Journalists Association . Videos about musicians such as Sonny Rollins and Henry Threadgill were also included in the selection . Not only the trade press noted the nomination as a “small sensation” .; and Der Spiegel reported. An invitation to the Awards Gala in New York by the President of the Jazz Journalists Association, Howard Mandel , led to five appearances in New York City and an entry into the New York club scene.
