Reviews
The reviews of the series were mostly positive. Among other things, the authentic representation of the strict, everyday English boarding school was praised. Kyoko from Pummeldex thinks the anime version is well done and believes that it can convince younger anime fans in particular. Maxedl describes the series as entertaining, but not very demanding. The Fuenf Freunde fanpage thinks it is good that the television series is very close to the books. Two chapters in a book would roughly correspond to a series. The descriptions in the book have also been lovingly integrated into the pictures. DVD Anime believes Hanni and Nanni is a lovable, family series. The stories are told well and the series is well designed. The characters would generally work fine. Each character would be presented realistically with their own little stories, strengths and mistakes. It is especially great to be able to follow the life of the twins and their friends in their everyday life with joy and sorrow. Hanni and Nanni is a nice series that can appeal to a wide audience, especially families. Janina Bembenek from Bild Zeitung thinks that Hanni and Nanni is an "absolutely great girl power series". She put the series 'theme song at number 11 on her list of "25 Themes That' 90s Kids Will Never Forget.
