Hans-Georg Eils

Hans-Georg Eils (born December 13, 1957 in Norderney ) is a German brewer and honorary president of the German Brewers' Association (DBB).

Life

After high school and military service, Eils began studying brewery technology at the Technical University of Berlin , which he graduated in 1983 with a degree in engineering. After that, he was initially a research assistant at the Research Institute for Technology in Brewery and Malting at the Experimental and Training Institute for Brewery in Berlin .

From 1983 to 2002 he held various positions in the Beck brewery in Bremen , where he was most recently the main department head brewing technology for the brewery and environment departments and, since 2000, for development and technology. During these years he also supervised the license productions in China, Thailand and India.

In 1994 Eils did his dissertation with Ludwig Narziss at the Technical University of Munich- Weihenstephan at the chair for brewery technology with a thesis on the influence of brewhouse equipment on the quality of wort and beer .

From 2002 to 2004 Eils was Technical Director of the Gilde Group with breweries in Hanover (Gilde), Braunschweig (Hofbrauhaus Wolters) and Wernigerode (Hasseröder). From 2004 to 2006 he was Director Brewery Operations at InBev Germany for the Diebels breweries in Issum ; Beck & Co Bremen; Dinkelacker-Schwabenbräu in Stuttgart; Spaten-Franziskaner-Löwenbräu in Munich; Guild in Hanover; Wolters in Braunschweig and Hasseröder in Wernigerode responsible. In 2007 he was appointed Director Zone Brewery Support Performance Western-Europe and was responsible for the brewing operations of InBev SA in Great Britain, the Benelux countries and Germany.

From 2007 to July 2018 Eils was Managing Director of the Karlsberg Brewery in Homburg an der Saar and from 2011 to 2017 President of the DBB.

Eils is married and has two grown children.

  • Member of the Technical and Scientific Committee (TWA) of the VLB Berlin

In November 2017 Eils received the Hop Order from the International Hop Growing Office
