Hans-Martin Rauch

Hans-Martin Rauch (born January 7, 1945 in Bayrischzell ) is a German former regional church music director of the Evangelical regional church in Bavaria .

Live and act

Rauch studied church music at the church music school in Bayreuth and at the music academy in Munich , where he passed the church music A-exam and the artistic state examination in 1972.

From 1972 to 1975 Rauch was cantor at the Apostle Church in Munich- Solln and from 1976 to 1991 city and district cantor at the Morizkirche in Coburg and director of the Coburg Bach Choir . In 1983 he was appointed church music director. In 1991 he was appointed regional church music director of the Evangelical Church in Bavaria and Rauch became director of church music at St. Sebald in Nuremberg . He held this office until 2001. In 2004 he took early retirement and has lived in St. Quirin am Tegernsee ever since .

In addition to his work as a church musician, Hans-Martin Rauch gained media attention in 2008 and 2009 through the murder of his wife Barbara, an adult education center teacher. In 2009 he was sentenced to life imprisonment for this.
