Hans-Otto Weidenbach

Hans-Otto Weidenbach (born July 25, 1952 in Bremen ; † July 16, 2011 in Bremen) was a freelance journalist and politician ( NPD , DVU ).

education and profession

After finishing school, Weidenbach completed an apprenticeship as a machine fitter at Bohm & Kruse in Bremen-Hemelingen . In 1972 he joined the Federal Border Police (BGS) and received training as a law enforcement officer. Then he was an administrative employee in the child benefit fund of the employment office in Bremen. From 1976 to 1981 he worked as a machinist in a large Bremen company in the food industry, then as a technical employee in a Bremen fruit trading company. Since 1987 he has been working as a freelance journalist with a focus on history and daily politics.

Weidenbach was married and had a stepchild that had not been adopted.

politics

Weidenbach was an activist with the Young National Democrats (JN) in Bremen as early as 1971 . In 1976 he joined the National Democratic Party of Germany (NPD). From 1977 to 1992 he was chairman of the NPD district association Bremen-Stadt, from spring 1987 until November 1992 chairman of the NPD regional association Bremen and meanwhile a member of the party executive committee.

Weidenbach was a founding member of the German People's Union (DVU) as a party in March 1987. He was elected to the board of the DVU regional association in Bremen . In 1992 he became chairman of the DVU regional association of Lower Saxony and in 1995 a member of the national board of DVU. From January 2009 to June 2010 he was a member of the party presidium and deputy party chairman and from 2007 to June 2010 he was chairman of the DVU regional association in Bremen. In mid-June 2010 he resigned from all party offices. As a member of the German People's Union, Weidenbach was a member of the Bremen Parliament from October 1991 to May 1995 .
