Hans-Peter Ludescher

Hans-Peter Ludescher (* 1961 in Dornbirn ) is an Austrian police officer and has been the state police director of Vorarlberg since September 2012 .

Career

Ludescher joined the Federal Gendarmerie in September 1979 and, after completing his training, was employed as a civil servant at the post in Bregenz . Further stations of his official activity were the Salzburg autobahn gendarmerie and the traffic department of the Salzburg state gendarmerie command until July 1988.

In addition to his job, Ludescher studied law, which he graduated in 1988. In July 1988 he switched to the legal service of the Vienna Federal Police Directorate , where he worked as a concept officer in the district police stations in Favoriten , Margareten , Josefstadt , Ottakring and Währing .

In April 1990 he returned to his home state to the security directorate there , where he took up the position of deputy security director and at the same time head of the criminal and administrative police departments. In March 2003 he resigned from the position of head of the administrative police department and took over the position of head of the State Office for the Protection of the Constitution and Counter Terrorism . At the end of 2004 Ludescher also resigned from the management of the criminal investigation department.

On October 1, 2009, Ludescher was appointed by Minister of the Interior Maria Fekter as the new security director for the state of Vorarlberg and succeeded Elmar Marent in this position , who retired on October 1, 2009. In the course of the security authority reform in 2012 , Ludescher acquired the newly created role of State Police Director .
