Hans-Peter Repnik (* 27. May 1947 in Konstanz ) is a German politician of the CDU . From 1989 to 1994 he was Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development . Between 1980 and 2005 he was a member of the German Bundestag , from 1998 to 2002 the first parliamentary manager of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group . From 2010 to 2012 Repnik was a member and chairman of the Council for Sustainable Development .

education and profession

After graduating from the Konstanz Business School in 1966, Repnik initially did his military service and then, from 1969, studied law and political science at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg , which he completed in 1973 with the first state examination and in 1976 with the second state examination . After that he was personal advisor to the finance minister of Baden-Württemberg until 1978 . He then served as a senior councilor parliamentary advisor in the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg until 1980 .

Repnik was CEO of the Dual System Germany (DSD) from 2002 until its takeover by the investor KKR in March 2005.

Hans-Peter Repnik is married and has two daughters. His brother Friedhelm Repnik was Minister of Social Affairs for the state of Baden-Württemberg.

Political activity

Repnik was initially involved in the Junge Union , whose district chairman in southern Baden he was from 1973 to 1976. From 1991 to 2001 Repnik was chairman of the CDU district association in South Baden and a member of the CDU presidium in Baden-Württemberg. From 1992 to 2002 he was also a member of the CDU federal executive committee .

From 1980 to 2005 Repnik was a member of the German Bundestag . From 1985 to 1989 he was chairman of the Baden-Württemberg regional group in the CDU / CSU parliamentary group . On April 21, 1989, on the occasion of a cabinet reshuffle, Repnik was appointed Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation in the Federal Government led by Federal Chancellor Helmut Kohl . After the federal election in 1994 he left office on November 17, 1994.

Hans-Peter Repnik was chairman of the Council for Sustainable Development from 2010 to 2012 , is an honorary member of the advisory board of the Arnold Bergstraesser Institute for cultural studies in Freiburg and an honorary member of the board of the German Foundation for World Population . He was also a long-time honorary member of the board of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation .
