Hans Borchardt (painter)
Hans Borchardt (born April 4, 1865 in Berlin , † January 8, 1917 in Munich ) was a German painter .
Hans Borchardt studied painting from 1883 to 1886 at the Berlin Royal Prussian Academy of the Arts and from 1886 to 1888 at the Munich Academy under Fritz von Uhde . He was one of the members of the Munich Secession .
Color-coordinated interiors by the portrait painter Borchardt mostly harmonize with a lady as a motif, for example in the picture Interior with a Lady in Evening Wear from 1894. As an interior and genre painter, he mastered the nuanced rendering in works such as The Reading Hour - created around 1890 of daylight. In addition, Borchardt worked as a landscape painter . Posthumously, several of his pictures from the latter creative field - for example Old Houses - Schwäbisch Hall , Old Mill near Oberstdorf and Am Bach - became known.
