Hans Deiker (born November 21, 1876 in Düsseldorf , † February 12, 1945 in Rostock ) was a German painter. The artist is mainly known for his landscape painting.

Life

Hans Deiker came from a well-known family of painters. His grandfather Friedrich Deiker worked as a drawing teacher in Wetzlar, while his father Johannes Deiker was court painter to Prince Ferdinand von Solms-Braunfels and a well-known painter of animal and hunting motifs. His uncle Carl Friedrich Deiker also devoted himself to these subjects .

Hans Deiker received his training as a painter from 1894 to 1900 at the Düsseldorf Art Academy . In the following years he mainly painted landscapes, many of them in the Lüneburg Heath . After a study visit to Paris in 1909/10, depictions of people increasingly appeared in his work. In addition to a stay in Brittany , other trips took him to the Netherlands ( Katwijk , 1911) as well as to Rome and the Campagna .
