Hans Dietmar Sauer (born August 7, 1941 in Ravensburg ) is a German bank manager . From 1992 to the end of 2000 he was CEO of Landeskreditbank Baden-Württemberg (later L-Bank ) and from 2001 to 2004 CEO of Landesbank Baden-Württemberg (LBBW) and President of the Association of German Public Banks (VÖB).

Life

Hans Dietmar Sauer is a son of the Lord Mayor and Minister of Education, Albert Sauer . He studied law and economics at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen , the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and the University of Cologne .

In 1972 he entered the higher service of the financial administration of the state of Baden-Württemberg. From 1972 to 1976 he was head of the ministerial office and personal assistant to the finance minister Robert Gleichauf . In 1976 he moved to Landeskreditbank Baden-Württemberg, where he became a member of the board in 1978. In 1985 he became deputy chairman of the board and in 1992 chairman of the board. In addition, from 1998 he was CEO of the Landeskreditbank Baden-Württemberg-Förderbank and from 1999 to 2000 Deputy CEO of LBBW. From 2001 to 2004 he was CEO of LBBW.

He has been chairman of the supervisory boards of Wüstenrot & Württembergische AG (W&W) and Wüstenrot Holding AG since 2005 . He is the deputy chairman of the supervisory board of Internationales Bankhaus Bodensee AG with headquarters in Friedrichshafen. From 2006 to 2013 he was a member of the supervisory board at ZF Friedrichshafen AG.

He is also chairman of the advisory board of the Catholic loan fund, Freiburg, deputy chairman of the advisory board of Vorarlberger Landes- und Hypothekenbank AG, Bregenz, member of the board of the private foundation of GdF Wüstenrot, Salzburg, member of the advisory board of EnBW AG, Karlsruhe, and honorary member of the Federal Association of Public Banks , Berlin.

Sauer is active in numerous cultural and charitable institutions, for example as Vice President of the German Schiller Society, Marbach (Neckar), as Chairman of the Academy for Spoken Word, Stuttgart, as Chairman of the Conference Center Bodensee - Schloss Maurach, Uhldingen-Mühlhofen, as a member of the Supervisory Board of the Ludwigsburg Castle Festival GmbH, as a member of the Kuratorien Schloss Wurzach, the International Bach Academy, Stuttgart, and the Zeppelin University, Friedrichshafen.

From 2001 to 2007 Sauer was Japanese Honorary Consul and before that Honorary Consul of Romania. In his role as head of L-Bank, he supported the “International Department” of the University of Karlsruhe, which is unique in Germany. The Landeskreditbank Baden-Württemberg has fundamentally renovated the building it acquired in the spring of 1998 in the former district office on Karlsruhe Schlossplatz and rented it to this university facility. From 2000 to 2006 Sauer was on the University Council of the University of Karlsruhe (TH) .

Hans Dietmar Sauer has been a member of the Catholic student association AV Guestfalia Tübingen in the CV since 1961 .
