Hans Erdmann (born February 18, 1895 in Löcknitz ( Pomerania ), † April 23, 1991 in Duisburg ) was an officer , most recently Major General of the German Air Force in World War II .

Early years and World War I

Erdmann joined the recruit depot of the Grenadier Regiment "King Friedrich Wilhelm IV." (1st Pomeranian) No. 2 on August 4, 1914, a few days after the outbreak of the First World War , where he remained until October 4, 1914 . From there he was assigned to the Fusilier Regiment "Queen Victoria of Sweden" (Pomeranian) No. 34 , where he acted as platoon leader and later as company leader . On August 5, 1916, Erdmann switched to the aviation forces and completed an aviation training course at the flying school in Altenburg by February 2, 1917 . Back on the western front , Erdmann was an observer for the A 210 (A = artillery) aircraft from February 3, 1917 until the end of the war . After the end of the war, Erdmann was released from active military service on November 30, 1918 and went to the police .

Interwar years

From December 1, 1920 to the end of 1923, it was initially used with the police squadron in Hamburg , later with the Lübeck-Blankensee , Travemünde and again Hamburg air inspection . He later worked for the police from January 1, 1924 to 1933 as adjutant , company officer and head of the driving school in the Hamburg police car park. Commander and World War II

This position lasted until August 11, 1943. On February 13, 1945 Erdmann was appointed commander of the Air Force Control Center North at the Deputy General Command X in Hamburg, where he also saw the end of the war.
