Hans Fromm

Hans Fromm (born May 8, 1961 in Munich ) is a German cameraman .

Life

Between 1986 and 1988 Fromm studied at the State College for Optics and Photo Technology in Berlin, specializing in cameras. Since 1989 he has been working as a freelance cameraman. In 1999 he began teaching as a lecturer at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin and the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg .

Hans Fromm's camera work sets the style for the visual aesthetics of the Berlin School . Since his graduation film Pilots (1995), Hans Fromm has been the camera operator in all of Christian Petzold's films , including Cuba Libre (1996), Die Bischlafdiebin (1998), Die Innere Sicherheit (2000), Toter Mann (2001) Wolfsburg (2003) , Gespenster (2005) Yella (2007) Jerichow (2008), Barbara (2012) and Phoenix (2014). He is also responsible for the design of Jan Ralske's Not A Love Song (1996/97), Michael Kliers Farland (2002–2004), Vanessa Jopp's My Beautiful Present (2007), Ian Dilthey's Prisoners (2006), Brigitte Berteles Der Brand (2011) and Grenzgang (2013), Christian Bach's Hirngespinster (2014) as well as various television films, including two crime scenes for NDR under the direction of Angelina Maccarone .
