Hans Güth

Hans Güth (born January 2, 1921 in Meiningen ) is a former German politician ( CDU of the GDR ) and editor . He was chairman of the Suhl district committee of the CDU.

Life

Güth was born the son of a locksmith . He graduated from high school in 1939 and was then called up for military service.

In 1946 he joined the CDU and became a member of the Meiningen city ​​council . From 1953 to 1956 he was chairman of the Suhl district committee of the CDU. He then headed the West Department or the main department for state administration and cadre policy at the CDU party leadership. In 1960 he became personal advisor to the Secretary General of the CDU, Gerald Götting . On March 28, 1962, he moved up to the People's Chamber as the Berlin representative and successor to Heinz-Wolfram Mascher as a member of the CDU parliamentary group , but only belonged to the People's Chamber until 1963.

From 1965 Güth worked as an editorial secretary, then from 1974 to 1986 as deputy editor-in-chief of the Christian Democratic central body Neue Zeit . He was also deputy chairman of the Berlin Association of Journalists. In 1986 he was chairman of the Berlin-Hohenschönhausen district association of the CDU. Before the special party conference in mid-December 1989, Güth polemicized against the West CDU in the Neue Zeit and recommended his party to take a course in the spirit of “socialism out of Christian responsibility”, as represented by Jakob Kaiser . At the special party conference on 15./16. December 1989 the CDU of the GDR said goodbye to socialism.
