Bernhard Schnieber

Bernhard Schnieber (born March 28, 1933 in Breslau ) is a former German politician ( CDU ). He was a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR and chairman of the Suhl district board and the Erfurt district board of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU).

Life

Schnieber, the son of a gardener , attended secondary school and studied German and Slavic studies at the Zwickau Institute for Teacher Training in 1950/51 . He completed his studies as a lower school teacher and worked from 1951 to 1956 as a lower school teacher. In 1952 he passed the first and in 1953 the second teacher examination. Between 1954 and 1957 he completed a distance learning course at the German Central Pedagogical Institute and between 1959 and 1965 a distance learning course at the Potsdam University of Education . Schnieber was a high school teacher and then a technical college teacher at the Technical College for Inland Trade Dresden, part of the school in Görlitz .

Schnieber joined the CDU in 1949, the FDJ and the FDGB in 1950 . From 1957 to 1960 he was a member of the Zittau district council . From 1965 to 1970 he was chairman of the Görlitz City and Country District Association of the CDU. From 1967 to 1971 he was a member of the People's Chamber and from November 1970 to January 1984 he was chairman of the CDU district executive in Suhl . From 1971 to 1984 he was a member of the Suhl district assembly . From October 1972 (13th party congress) to December 1989, he was also a member of the main CDU board. From January 1984 to 1990 Schnieber worked as chairman of the CDU district committee in Erfurt.
