Hans Geisler (politician)
Hans Geisler (born March 22, 1940 in Lauban ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 1990 to 2002 he was Saxon State Minister for Social Affairs, Health and Family .
Life
After graduating from high school in 1958 in Löbau and training as a dyer , he studied chemistry at the Technical University of Dresden from 1960 . He passed his state examination in 1965 and received his doctorate from TUD in 1970 .
Geisler belongs to the Evangelical Lutheran denomination, is married and has four children. He lives in Radeberg .
politics
Geisler joined the Democratic Awakening party in 1989 and has been a member of this party since it merged with the CDU in August 1990. He was a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR from March to October 1990 and of the German Bundestag from October 3, 1990 to February 1991 . From October 1994 to 2004 he was a member of the Saxon state parliament .
From November 1990 to May 2002 he was Saxon State Minister for Social Affairs, Health and Family and from August 1995 to May 2002 he was also Deputy Prime Minister in Kurt Biedenkopf's cabinet . In 2006 he was appointed a member of the Council for Sustainable Development by the Federal Government .
On May 27, 2000 he was awarded the Saxon Constitutional Medal by the President of the State Parliament, Erich Iltgen .
