Hans Grassl

Hans Grassl (born January 20, 1908 in Vienna , † January 8, 1980 in Innsbruck ) was an Austrian civil engineer.

biography

Grassl studied civil engineering at the Technical University of Vienna from 1926 to 1931 and then worked for the steel construction company Waagner-Biro in Vienna, where he dealt with steel bridges, among other things. In 1935 he became group leader for steel bridges in the top construction management of the Reichsautobahn in Hanover . In 1937 he went to the steel construction company Rheinstahl-Eggers Kehrhahn in Hamburg , where he was most recently director and left in 1947 when he opened his own engineering office in Hamburg. Soon after, branches were opened in Düsseldorf and Munich .

In 1973 he received an honorary doctorate from the TU Braunschweig for achievements in structural engineering and especially in bridge building. He was a member of the German Committee for Steel Construction.
