Hans Hermann Wickel

Hans Hermann Wickel (born 1954 in Göttingen ) is a German music teacher , musicologist and co-founder of music geragogy .

life and work

Hans Hermann Wickel studied organ , piano and music theory at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold , Münster department, as well as musicology , education and Romance studies at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster . In 1984 he completed there his doctorate Dr. phil. with the topic of foreign organ builders in Westphalia .

After working as a teacher and lecturer, he has been professor for music education at the Münster University of Applied Sciences since 1995 in the social work department . With Theo Hartogh , he published the manual for music in social work in 2004 .

Since 2001, another focus of his work has been on music in old age. Wickel is head of the advanced training courses in music and cultural geragogy at the Münster University of Applied Sciences. Since 2009 he has been the first chairman of the German Society for Music Geragogy

He also works as an organist and choir director.
