The Waxmann Publishing is an independent international academic publisher based in Muenster and New York .
history
The publishing house was founded in Münster in 1987, and Ursula Heckel has been the managing partner since 1991 and has been running the publishing house together with Beate Plugge (authorized signatory) since 2007.
Publishing program
Waxmann is an international scientific publisher specializing in the publication of dissertations , monographs, edited volumes, book series and journals from various scientific disciplines. The focus is on the areas of education, psychology, sociology, folklore, music and literature, and educational research.
Around 2600 titles are currently available (as of March 2015).
The publishing house has been part of the Uni-Taschenbücher (UTB) publishing group since the beginning of 2015 .

In addition to the scientific program, the series Waxmann Schwarze Serie has been published since 1997 , in which regional thrillers set in Münster and the Münsterland are published. The authors are Jürgen Kehrer , Ursula Meyer , Georg Veit and Brigitte and Gerd Bracht .
