Hans Lampe (swimmer)

Hans Jürgen Lampe (born June 28, 1948 in Hanover ) is a former German swimmer who competed for the Federal Republic of Germany .

In 1970 and 1972 Hans Lampe won the German championship title over 100 meters butterfly. In 1970 he improved the European record to 57.5 seconds at the European Championships in Barcelona and became European champion. At the Olympic Games in 1972 he was eliminated with 59.00 seconds in the run-up.

Hans Lampe started for the swimming and sports fans in Bonn in 1905 . His younger brother Werner Lampe and his son Oliver were successful freestyle swimmers. From 1973 to 2014 he worked as a teacher at the Lotte Kestner School in Hanover. There he taught the subjects of handicrafts, geography, mathematics and sports / swimming.

Hans Lampe is married and now lives with his wife in Hanover-Langenhagen.
