Hans Lehr (writer)

Hans Lehr (born January 16, 1901 in Wiesbaden as Johann Christian Lehr ; † March 12, 1965 ibid) was a German writer and translator .

Life

Hans Lehr was the son of a master cooper . After attending primary school , Hans Lehr completed an apprenticeship as a banker . From 1917 to 1925 he worked as a bank clerk . After that study , he literary history and philosophy at the University of Munich . Most recently he lived as a freelance writer in Niedernhausen im Taunus .

Hans teaching published from 1934 many young people's books , mostly from the genre of adventure literature . He also worked as an editor , editor and translator of contemporary and classical works of youth literature. After the Second World War in the Soviet zone and the early GDR, six of Lehr's works, published between 1934 and 1942, were on the list of literature to be sorted out .
