Hans Martin Bury

Hans Martin Bury (born April 5, 1966 in Bietigheim ) is a former German politician (SPD) and today's manager.

From 1999 to 2002 he was Minister of State in the Federal Chancellery and from 2002 to 2005 Minister of State for Europe in the Foreign Office .

education and profession

After graduating from high school in 1985, Bury studied business administration as a dual course of study at the vocational academies in Stuttgart and Mosbach and graduated in 1988 with a degree in business administration (BA). He then worked as an executive assistant at Volksbank Ludwigsburg eG.

From 2005 Bury was Managing Director in the European Investment Banking Division of Lehman Brothers and from 2008 a member of the Board of Management. After the bank went bankrupt, he briefly moved to Nomura Bank , which took over Lehmann Brothers' European business. From 2009 to December 31, 2017 he was Managing Partner of the management consultancy Hering Schuppener Consulting.

The German Telekom AG announced that Bury would ordered on 15 May 2008 as a member of the Supervisory Board.

Political party

Bury has been a member of the SPD since 1988. From 1997 to 2005 he was a member of the SPD state executive in Baden-Württemberg .

MP

From 1989 to 1990 Bury was a member of the city council of Bietigheim-Bissingen.

From 1990 to 2005 he was a member of the German Bundestag . From 1992 to 1994 he was the spokesman for the group of young MPs ("Youngster"). After that he was spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group for post and telecommunications until 1998 , then until 1999 spokesman for business and technology . He belongs to the Berlin network .

Hans Martin Bury entered the German Bundestag in 1998 as a directly elected member of the Neckar-Zaber constituency and otherwise always via the Baden-Württemberg state list.

In the 2005 federal election , Bury did not run.

Public offices

From August 1999 to October 2002, Hans Martin Bury was Minister of State in the Federal Chancellery of the Federal Government led by Federal Chancellor Gerhard Schröder . After the federal election in 2002 , he was appointed Minister of State for Europe in the Foreign Office in October 2002 and, since June 2003, has also been the Federal Government's representative for Franco-German cooperation .
