In 1950, Hans Peter Hoch founded the office for visual communication in Stuttgart . “When I started my own business in the 1950s, I first decorated shop windows. Four pieces a month in a household goods store for about 120 marks. I was able to make a living from that back then - and learn a lot from it. Then I designed brochures for industrial companies. "

Highly designed exhibition catalogs, posters, signets, brochures, stamps and developed the corporate design of various museums and institutions such as: the Hegelhaus in Stuttgart, the Georg Elser Memorial in Königsbronn , the Bert Brecht House in Augsburg , the Martin Heidegger Museum in Meßkirch and the Institute for Foreign Relations (ifa). From 1977 to 1982 he painted - acrylic on canvas - different series of form-color-codings, combinations of several color and arrangement systems with overlays. These free, artistic works found their formal expression in a dynamic poster developed from geometric elements for the European Athletics Championships 1986 in Stuttgart. Hoch combined free artistic work with applied art. For him, as for Anton Stankowski , art and design formed a unit and were not polarizing points of view. In 1988 he was the third recipient of the Stankowski Foundation's award for his life's work in art and design .
