Hans Peter Wehrli

Hans Peter Wehrli (born July 28, 1952 in Küttigen ) is a Swiss economist . He is a professor emeritus for business administration and held the marketing chair at the University of Zurich from 1993 to 2017 .

Life

After graduating from the Aarau Cantonal School , Hans Peter Wehrli studied economics at the University of Zurich until 1977 and received his doctorate in business administration in 1980 (Dr. oec. Publ., Grade: summa cum laude). In 1985 he spent research stays at the University of California at Berkeley and the Harvard Business School in Boston and was a full-time lecturer at the University of St. Gallen . In 1988 he was awarded the Venia Legendi in business administration (private lecturer). In 1988/89 he was deputy chair of the C4 professorship for administrative sciences at the University of Konstanz , before becoming assistant professor at the University of Zurich in 1989. From 1993 to 2017 he was full professor of business administration at the University of Zurich in the Marketing Department.

In his research, he is particularly concerned with relationship marketing (CRM). His expertise in this research area was recognized with the award-winning publication "Relationship Marketing in Value Systems" (Best Paper Award at the 2nd Research Conference on Relationship Marketing 1994 , Atlanta, GA, USA).

From 2002 to 2008 Hans Peter Wehrli was Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics. He led the faculty through a strong growth phase with numerous appointments, accompanied the introduction of the Bologna system at the faculty and achieved accreditations at EQUIS and AACSB . He also supported the establishment of the OEC ALUMNI UZH, in whose patronage committee he is a member.

In numerous further education courses at the University of Zurich, he works as a lecturer in marketing and also in a management position (including EMBA, EMAA, CUREM, MedLead).

Wehrli taught the basics of marketing to well over 10,000 students and has supervised more than 200 bachelor and master theses from students since 2004. He gave well over 200 lectures and seminars on management and marketing.

Mandates

Wehrli is a member of various boards of directors and other bodies. Among other things, he was Chairman of the Board of Directors of Swiss Prime Site AG , the largest Swiss real estate company, and Belimo Holding AG , a group of companies in the field of electrical drive solutions in heating, ventilation and air conditioning technology. He also holds other mandates at Datacolor AG , Jakob Härdi AG and Gebäudeversicherung Bern (GVB).

Wehrli is also active in an advisory capacity and is involved in many other bodies, for example as a member of the jury of the SEF.Award of the Swiss Economic Forum .

For example, Wehrli has long been involved in the University of Zurich Student Union's Loan Fund Foundation (DSUZ), of which he has been president for many years, for students at the University of Zurich .
