Hans Rass

Hans Raß (born June 13, 1911 in Riedenburg , † April 11, 1997 in Amberg ) was a Bavarian district administrator and member of the CSU state parliament .

Life

Rass was born the son of a Chief Justice Inspector. He grew up in Amberg. After graduating from high school in Amberg, he began studying law in Munich and Erlangen in 1931 and became a member of the Catholic student associations K.St.V. Albertia Munich and Rhenania Erlangen in KV . In 1936 he received his doctorate from the University of Erlangen. In 1939 the second state examination took place. In 1941 he was drafted into the Wehrmacht , where he served in the Air Force. After the end of the war he was taken prisoner by the English until 1948, after which he worked as a lawyer in Amberg from 1948. In 1954/65 he became district chairman of the CSU district association Amberg-Stadt.

Hans Raß was a member of the Bavarian state parliament from 1950 to 1970 , in 1958 he succeeded Martin Winkler as the district administrator of the Amberg district , and from 1972 of the Amberg-Sulzbach district, which was newly established with the regional reform . In 1978 Hans Wagner succeeded him. One of his great merits as district administrator was to have taken care of the water supply for the Lower Vilstal during the period of reconstruction , and he also particularly promoted infrastructure, economy and tourism.
