Life
Hans Schrott-Fiechtl, whose parents lived separately, grew up with his mother on a mountain farm in Kundl . He attended grammar school in Brixen and the Stella Matutina Jesuit school in Feldkirch . From 1885 to 1888 he completed an agricultural training at the Francisco-Josephinum College in Mödling . He then went to study abroad and went on a two-year trip that took him to the Far East and the United States . On his return he lived in Hamburg and later in Eutin , where he edited an agricultural journal. He also attended lectures at the University of Kiel . Schrott-Fiechtl delivered technical articles on agricultural topics, especially dairy farming , and was the first to publish narrative works of Tyrolean homeland stories . He lived in Vienna for a year and settled in Berlin as a freelance writer in 1900 ; In the following years he used to spend the summer in his Tyrolean homeland. After suffering a stroke in the mid-1920s , he was unable to continue his work as a writer. From 1933 he was based in Schwaz / Tyrol and most recently in Vomp / Tyrol. A street in Vomp was named after him. Hans Schrott-Fiechtl was the author of novels and stories that mostly deal with topics from Tyrolean peasant life. He was married to Elsa Eisgruber .
