Hans Tichy (painter)

Hans Tichy (born July 27, 1861 in Brno , † October 28, 1925 in Vienna ) was an Austrian painter and worked as a professor at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts .

Life

Hans Tichy studied at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts from 1880 to 1884 under Christian Griepenkerl and August Eisenmenger . Until 1889 he was a student of Leopold Carl Müller , also known as Orient-Müller , and received a one-year scholarship in Rome the following year (the Kenyon travel grant ). After teaching at the art school for women and girls in Vienna from 1899 to 1913 , he was appointed full professor at the Vienna Academy in October 1914. He was buried at the Sieveringen cemetery .

Hans Tichy was a member of the German Association of Artists .
