Hans von Burghausen (* between 1350 and 1360 in Burghausen ; † August 10, 1432 in Landshut ; actually Hanns Purghauser ) was a German builder of the late Gothic . In the older literature he was often mistakenly equated with Hans Stethaimer or Hans Krumenauer .

Hans von Burghausen probably learned his trade at the Viennese building works. He played a key role in building the Martinskirche in Landshut (1406 - 1432), the choir of the Franciscan Church in Salzburg , the churches of St. Nikolaus in Neuötting , St. Jakob in Straubing and St. Jakob in Wasserburg am Inn as well as many other smaller buildings, including the St. Barbara Chapel in Merano . The Holy Spirit Church in Landshut is regarded as his main work . Features of its construction were three-aisled hall churches and low chapels set in the buttresses. He used brick as a building material . The towers of his churches go from a square plan to an octagonal plan. The main inspiration for his work was a building from the 14th century, the Heilig-Kreuz-Münster of Schwäbisch Gmünd , built by Heinrich Parler . There you will find the features that were exemplary for Hans von Burghausen: very tall and slim round pillars and the polygonal construction plan with ambulatory . The transition from the basilica to the hall church is particularly evident in the Landshut Heilig-Geist-Spitalkirche , an extremely steep building with single-story windows that emphasize the verticality. The polygonal choir is closed by a single pillar around which light flows from the apse window behind .

The inscription on his epitaph reads:
