Hans von Hebra (born May 24, 1847 in Vienna ; † April 13, 1902 there ) was an Austrian dermatologist. He was the son of Ferdinand von Hebra , who was considered the founder of the so-called new Viennese school of dermatology.

Life

Hans von Hebra received his doctorate in medicine in 1870. Following the example of his father, he turned to the special subjects of dermatology and syphilis and initially entered the Vienna General Hospital . In 1876 he visited various clinics abroad. He then worked as a private lecturer at the University of Vienna , where he gave lectures in German, French and English. In 1883 Hebra became head of the Department of Skin Diseases and Syphilis at the General Polyclinic in Vienna . He did a great job building the new clinic. This was followed by the appointment as primary physician at the Wiedner Hospital .

Hebra has published numerous articles in professional journals and several independent medical works, including an abridged textbook on skin diseases . In the mid-1990s he was elected to the City Council of Vienna.

He died of cancer. He was buried in an honorary grave at the Hernals cemetery .
