Hans von Ow

Hans Otto Nepomuk Wolfgang Freiherr von Ow-Wachendorf (born April 28, 1843 in Wachendorf ; † May 7, 1921 there ) was a landowner and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Ow attended the Jesuit school in Trauchberg and Feldkirch from 1849 to 1858 and the Stuttgart grammar school from 1858 to 1863 . From 1863 to 1866 he studied law , political science and economics at the universities of Tübingen , Freiburg im Breisgau , Heidelberg and Berlin . After a forest internship in Sigmaringen and Bohemia, he studied forestry and agriculture at the Academy in Hohenheim from 1867 to 1869and then worked there for two years as a private lecturer (repetent). Ow was a co-founder and member of the German Agriculture Council for several years, as its delegate he took part in the world exhibitions in Vienna and Paris in 1873 and 1878. From 1890 to 1908, Hans von Ow was government director of the Württemberg Central Office for Agriculture, from 1905 with the title Council of State and from 1907 with the title Excellence.

From 1876 to 1906 he was a member of the second chamber of the Württemberg estates as a representative of the knighthood of the Black Forest district and, after the constitutional reform, of the first chamber from 1906 until the end of the kingdom of Württemberg . Between 1878 and 1890 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Württemberg 8 ( Freudenstadt , Horb , Oberndorf , Sulz ) and the German Reich Party .

Since 1898 he was a corps loop bearer of the Corps Suevia Tübingen .

Ow's son Hans Hartmann von Ow-Wachendorf (1882–1966) was a diplomat.
