Harald Weiss-Bollandt

Harald Weiss-Bollandt (born August 5, 1940 ; † October 11, 2010 in Fulda ) was police chief in Frankfurt am Main from 1999 to 2005 .

Life

Weiss-Bollandt worked as a senior public prosecutor at the Frankfurt am Main public prosecutor's office until 1989 , before he became permanent representative of the head of the public prosecutor's office in Fulda . In April 1991 he became head of the agency.

In July 1999 he moved from the judiciary to the Hesse police force when he took over the post of police chief of Frankfurt am Main. The kidnapping of the banker's son Jakob von Metzler took place during Weiss-Bollandt's tenure . He had always defended Wolfgang Daschner's approach because he considered it justified.

On August 31, 2005 he was retired by the then Hessian Interior Minister Volker Bouffier after reaching the age limit. Achim Thiel was his successor .

Weiss-Bollandt died on October 11, 2010 in a Fulda hospital.
