Karl Riess von Scheurnschloß

Karl Franz Benjamin Rieß von Scheurnschloß (born August 15, 1863 in Flottbek , † March 1, 1948 in Dillich ) was a German manor owner and administrative officer.

Life

Karl Rieß von Scheurnschloß studied at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg and the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen . In 1883 he became a member of the Corps Saxo-Borussia Heidelberg ; in Göttingen he joined the Corps Saxonia Göttingen . After studying and traineeship, he entered the Prussian civil service as a government assessor. In 1898 he became the district administrator of the district Hofgeismar appointed. In 1908 he moved to the district government in Kassel as a senior councilor and deputy to the district president . In 1911 he was appointed police chief of Frankfurt am Main . When he refused to cooperate with the Workers 'and Soldiers' Council at the end of the First World War , he was arrested by a group of armed revolutionaries in the police headquarters on November 9, 1918 and, despite instructions from the Prussian Interior Minister, was not reinstated in office.

Retired from May 1919, Rieß von Scheurnschloß lived in Dillich as the owner of the Dillich and Seehof estates in the Homberg district . He was the royal chamberlain . His wife was Magda von der Malsburg zu Escheberg .
