Hardline is an American hard rock band formed in 1991 by brothers Johnny and Joey Gioeli.

history

Hardline was founded in 1991 by the brothers Johnny and Joey Gioeli , after both had previously played in several bands, including Brunette . To support them, they brought guitarist Neal Schon and drummer Deen Castronovo from Journey into the studio. Ex- sequel bassist Todd Jensen also belonged to the first line-up . In 1992, Hardline released their first album Double Eclipse , which was a comparatively great success with number 17 on the Billboard Heatseekers Charts. The video for the single Takin 'Me Down was also known on MTV.

Already after the first album the band threatened to fall apart again. Subsequently he took care of other projects. Castronovo and Todd Jensen also left the band shortly after the release and joined Ozzy Osbourne's band. Castronovo returned to their old band Journey in 1996, as did Schon. For their second album II (2002), the Gioeli brothers brought in Bobby Rock, a former brunette colleague as a drummer. Angel -keyboarder Michael T. Ross joined the band as well as other new musicians. The second album was also very successful. In June 2002 Hardline headlined The God Festival in Bradford , England , from which a live recording was also made. In 2009 Hardline released the album Leaving The End Open , now with a different line-up with Michael T. Ross as keyboardist, Jamie Brown as new bassist and Atma Anur on drums.

The fourth studio album Danger Zone was released in May 2012 with a different line-up. Johnny Gioeli stayed with the band as front man and singer, but changed the entire line-up of Hardline. The songs were composed by the Italian musician Alessandro Del Vecchio, who also took over the backing vocals and the keyboards during the recordings . The band was joined by the new guitarist Thorsten Koehne, Anna Portalupi as bassist and the drummer Francesco Jovin.
