geography

source

The farthest source of the Harmersbach , which rises as Zuwalder Bach, is about 0.4 km north of the Hahnenkopf summit, between the Herbensattel and the Paulshütte below, in the northeast tip of the Oberharmersbach municipality .

course

The villages of Oberharmersbach , Unterharmersbach , both with scattered settlements in the form of numerous tines and farmsteads by the water and in its wooded catchment area, as well as the small town of Zell am Harmersbach are located on the initially western, later on the largest part of the southwestern Harmersbach -lauf .

The valley, which is still very narrow on its western course, widens noticeably on its south-western course, the mouth spur towards the Nordrach is already quite flat and unforested over two kilometers before the confluence; here is the small town of Zell, the settlement focus of the valley, which has grown together with the old town centers. The Harmersbachtalbahn follows the water from the terminus in Zinken Vor Riersbach above Oberharmersbach along its entire length on the left .

confluence

At the western edge of Zell, the 15.1 km long Nordrach unites from the right with the 16.3 km long Harmersbach to the Erlenbach , which itself flows into the Kinzig after another 2.6 km from the right at Biberach .
