Hartmut Bühl

Hartmut Bühl (born February 25, 1940 in Karlsruhe ) is a German officer ( Colonel i. G. a. D.), military attaché and publicist .

In 1960 he joined the artillery force of the Bundeswehr . From 1971 to 1974 he completed general staff training at the command academy of the Bundeswehr in Hamburg and the École supérieure de guerre in Paris.

From 1980 he was used in the headquarters of the armed forces in Bonn. In 1980/81 he was military policy advisor in the delegation of the Federal Republic of Germany at the 2nd CSCE follow-up meeting in Madrid. From 1982 to 1986 he was a security policy advisor at the Federal Chancellery in Bonn under Helmut Schmidt (SPD) and Helmut Kohl (CDU). From 1986 to 1989 he was an army attaché at the German embassy in Paris. In 1991/92 he was the deputy commander of the Heimatschutzbrigade 64 in Trier. He was then Deputy Chief of Staff and Head of Operations in the Eurocorps in Strasbourg. From 1996 to 1998 he was in command of Defense District Command 43 in Darmstadt. He then retired.

In 1998 he became Vice President and Marketing Director at Euromissile in Paris and in 2001 Vice President and Director for EU Policy and NATO at EADS in Brussels. From 2005 to 2007 he was the communications team leader at AGS Industries in Brussels. He then became editor for European affairs and head of the Brussels office of the Spiegel authorities . In 2008 he was a consultant for EU Security and Defense Policy and NATO. Since 2008 he has been editor-in-chief and publisher of The European - Security and Defense Union .

In 1981 he was a founding member of the NGO EuroDefense . In 2001 he became a member of the Advisory Board of the Brussels think tank Security & Defense Agenda . He has been an advisor to the French community of Berchères-sur-Vesgre since 2008.
