Ortwin Buchbender

Ortwin K. Buchbender (* 1938 ) is a German historian .

Life

Buchbender studied English language and literature , history , philosophy and pedagogy in Cologne and Hamburg , 1978, he was at the Department of History of the University of Hamburg with the dissertation German propaganda against the Red Army in World War II for Dr. phil. PhD. He initially worked as a teacher for English, history and philosophy in Hamburg.

He then moved to the Federal Ministry of Defense in Bonn , where he a. a. Principal advisor in Staff Departments I and III in the Command Staff of the Armed Forces . He later became a lecturer at the Bundeswehr School for Psychological Defense in Euskirchen . Until his retirement, he was Senior Scientific Director and group leader for basic scientific work at the successor institution of the Bundeswehr Academy for Information and Communication in Strausberg . His focus is on a. in the areas of security policy , peace and conflict research and psychological warfare .

He held teaching positions at universities in Bonn, Münster and Berlin ( TU ) as well as in Rothenburg / Oberlausitz ( University of the Saxon Police ).
