Life

After graduating from the Plön Castle Boarding School in 1964, Hartmut Bremer completed a one-year hotel internship in Dénia / Spain. After three years of military service and subsequent training as a hotel clerk at the hotel management school in Tegernsee and Bad Wiessee , he began studying mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Munich in the 1969/70 winter semester , which he completed in March 1974 with a diploma, followed by a doctorate (1978, PC Müller) and Habilitation (1982, Kurt Magnus ). In 1983 he took up his position as a private lecturer in mechanics at the Technical University of Munich ( Friedrich Pfeiffer ), and from 1990 he worked there as an adjunct professor. From 1995 he researched and taught at the Johannes Kepler University (JKU) Linz, where he headed the Institute for Robotics and was President of the Mechatronics department. He retired on October 1, 2013 and taught at the JKU until 2014.

Hartmut Bremer died on December 6, 2018 at the age of 73.
