Hartmut Krüger (lawyer)

Hartmut Krüger (born August 30, 1943 in Greifswald ; † July 8, 1998 in Bonn ) was a German legal scholar .

Life

Krüger spent the first years of his life in Greifswald before his family moved to Lower Saxony in 1948 . He attended the Johanneum , a traditional grammar school in Lüneburg . There he passed the Abitur in 1964. He then studied law and political science at the Universities of Freiburg , Kiel and Speyer . He passed both state law exams and received his doctorate in 1972 in Kiel with the thesis Legal Aspects of Equal Co-Determination .

After a year in the ministerial administration of Schleswig-Holstein , Krüger went to the University of Regensburg , where he worked as an assistant to Otto Kimminich and completed his habilitation in 1983 with the work of criteria for the constitutional organization of scientific universities in Austria and the Federal Republic of Germany . This was followed by substitute professorships at the Universities of Göttingen , Regensburg and Cologne . There he received a professorship for public law in 1986 , later expanded to include German and European science law .

In 1994 he was instrumental in founding the “Association for the Promotion of German & International Science Law”.

Krüger taught and researched in Cologne until his death. He was married and had two children. He died in 1998 at the age of 54 and was buried in the Melaten cemetery in Cologne (hall 36).
