Hartmut Ruppel

Hartmut Ruppel (born May 4, 1945 in Hanover , Germany ) is a former Namibian politician of SWAPO and was the country's first Attorney-General in the Nujoma I cabinet from 1990 to 1995 .

Ruppel was a member of the Constituent Assembly of Namibia in 1989 and then from 1990 to 2000 a member of the Namibian National Assembly .

Ruppel has been a lawyer since 1983 after completing his BA and LL.B. at the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa . He is currently (as of November 2019) managing director of the legal advisory firm ENS Africa in Namibia. In the past he was also Chairman of the Board of Directors of the state pension fund GIPF.
